Illinois Visit Options

Illinois Visit Options Were so glad youre interested in visiting Illinois! With so many ways to see our campus, it can be a bit tricky to decide which option is best for you. Thats why Im covering some of our most popular visit options. Whether youre new to high school, a transfer student, or an admitted student, weve got you covered. Daily Visits We offer Daily Visits every Monday through Friday, as well as select Saturdays. In the fall, these visits are for high school students who are interested in Illinois but havent been admitted yet. In the spring, theyre offered to admitted students, too. Daily Visits include a 40-minute admissions presentation led by an admissions counselor, a 20-minute student panel, and a 75-minute campus walking tour. When registering for this visit on our website, youll have the opportunity to sign up for an Engineering tour or, in some cases, meet with an academic unit. If you feel like it, you can even plan to sit in on a class. Following the same structure as our Daily Visits but specifically tailored toward transfer students, Transfer Information Sessions are offered for both prospective and admitted transfers. As with our Daily Visits, youre welcome to sign up for an academic meeting or sit in on a class when youre on campus. Orange Blue Days If youre a prospective student and really want to explore Illinois academic units, consider taking advantage of our Orange Blue Days. These days are packed with information sessions on our departments, tours, and presentations by Admissions, Housing, and Financial Aid. We offer around two to four of these events each fall and spring, and they fill up quickly! When you register, you have options to attend as a prospective freshman or a prospective transfer. Illini Days Similar to our Orange Blue Days, Illini Days are large open houses for admitted students and their families. Your visit will include an overview, a student panel, tours, and activities with your specific college or department. Walk-in hours with Financial Aid and Housing are available as well. Illini Days are for admitted freshmen, and Transfer Illini Days are for admitted transfer students. Both occur only in the spring. Registration usually becomes available in January. Other Visit Options Wed love to see you on campus, but we understand how busy you are. If you cant make it to one of our scheduled events, consider taking one of our Self-Guided Tours. The good thing about these tours is that you can explore campus at whatever pace you like. We offer one for the Quad and one for the Engineering buildings. If you cant make it to Illinois in person, you can still get a great sense of our Illini pride and amazing campus by taking one of our Virtual Tours. Whatever option you choose, come prepared to make the most of your visit. We hope to see you on campus soon!
